ADRIEN BARRÉRE (1877-1931) LA REVUE DES FOLIES-BERGÉRE. 1902.
50 1/8x77 1/4 inches. Wall & Cie., Paris.
Condition B+: repaired tears, restored losses and time-staining in margins and vertical and horizontal folds. Two Sheets.
In 1902 the Folies-Bergére started a yearly revue that was something of a hit parade, featuring the best and the brightest of all concert-hall and cabaret talent. For this, their first one, the entertainers would all have been familiar to Barrére who seems to have had fun organizing this light-hearted, humorous procession of performers. This is the rare first printing of the poster. Many of the copies that come on the market are a "photo-litho / d'aprés" Barrére. Café Concert p. 179, Folies-Bergére 57.
