Hahn was a graphic designer who became widely known for his political posters. This poster, for the 1914 Colonial Exhibition in Java, is one of his most famous. It is also one of the classic Dutch Art Nouveau posters of the period, presenting the classical layout of the subject (an Indonesian Woman) sitting in the center of an elaborately decorated border.
