ALBERT LÉVY (1844-1907)
A group of 24 stunning cyanotypes documenting landmark buildings and residences in Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, and Baltimore. Cyanotypes, the images measuring approximately 10x8 inches (25.4x20.3 cm.), and the reverse, the sheets slightly larger, some with a numeric notation in the negative. Circa 1885-95

Albert Lévy was a French photographer active in the 1870s-90s. A pioneer in architectural photography, he focused his work in Europe and the United States. He produced a catalog containing 2,500 titles covering France, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United States. He was one of the first photographers to have a studio on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, in Paris and New York.
