Woodcut, circa 1498. 388x284 mm; 15 1/2x11 1/4 inches, narrow to thread margins. A superb, dark, well-inked and evenly-printed printed Meder d impression with strong contrasts and little to no sign of wear. Augsburg chalice watermark (Meder 180, which he dates from the mid-1500s).

Provenance: Henry Ward Beecher, New York, blind stamp lower right recto (Lugt 224); sold American Art Association, New York, November 16-17, 1887; and unidentified collector, partial and illegible ink stamp lower center verso.
