Engraving, circa 1496-98. 198x123 mm; 7 3/4x4 7/8 inches, thread margins. A brilliant, richly-inked Meder Ic impression, with the delicate scratches printing clearly in the background above the man and woman's heads. Gothic letter P watermark (Meder 322, which he dates to circa 1500). Ex-collection Aimé-Charles-Horace His de la Salle (Lugt 1332, according to an inscription in pencil, verso); Narcisse Révil (Lugt 2138, according to an inscription in pencil, verso); Alcide Donnadieu, dated 1853 in pencil (Lugt 97, verso); Blaisot (Lugt 263, verso) and unknown collector, initials HC (or E) N in ink, verso (not in Lugt).
