A superb, dark, richly-inked Meder II a impression, with the short scratch from the angel's left palm into the nimbus, with very strong contrasts and every detail distinct, with no sign of wear, consistent with the earliest impressions of this subject. Small jug watermark (Meder 158, which he dates to circa 1525). With thread margins or trimmed on the plate mark.
