An image that has previously been dated to 1922, however the Wimbledon championship that began on June 25th was the 1923 tournament. That year was the 43rd staging of the Wimbledon Championships, and the first Grand Slam tennis event of 1923 - it was the 2nd year that the games were held at their current venue on Church Road.

Cosomati was born in Italy, and moved to London around 1920, after studying drawing, printing, bookbinding and furniture design in Zurich. His commercial projects were mostly commissions for the London Underground, including advertisements for events such as Horse Shows, an RAF Aerial pageant, Derby Day and more general promotions of the bus stops and train lines.
