Karshan relates the current work to the print Female Nudes (Weibliche Akt)<>, lithograph, 1923, which was published in the portfolio Dritte Jahresgabe des Kreises graphischer Künstler und Sammler<>, Leipzig (Karshan 29). Indeed, the drawing appears to be a close study for the print, which is in reverse of the current work.
