Color lithograph, 1975. 555x755 mm; 22x29 7/8 inches (sheet), full margins. Signed and numbered 17/175 in pencil, lower margin. A very good impression with strong colors.

During the spring of 1925, Calder spent two weeks in New York illustrating the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and during the winter of 1925 sketched the Sarasota, Florida, training camp of the Ringling Circus. Subsequently, in Paris in 1936 he deveolped the Cirque Calder. His career-long interest in the circus continued to the later graphic works.
