William Butler Yeats reading a book. Toned silver print, the image measuring 7 5/8x6 1/4 inches (19.4x15.9 cm.), the mount 10x8 inches (25.4x20.3 cm.), with Boughton's signature, copyright, and date in ink and Yeats' credit in pencil in an unknown hand on mount recto, and the Culver Pictures label, barcode, and stamp on mount verso. 1904

Aside from her portraits of literary and theatrical figures, for which she is well-known, Boughton was a Fellow of Alfred Stieglitz's Photo-Secession. She was published in Camera Work and included in his exhibitions, including landscape, images of children, and nude studies. Boughton was also active in feminist causes, and a member of the New Woman, active in promoting the parity of women's artwork, and in the educated and modern woman.
