In addition to Carmen and her gang of thieves, the crowd contains such notable New Yorkers of the early 1990s as Katharine Hepburn, Woody Allen, Neil Simon, Liza Minnelli, then-Mayor David Dinkins, and the artist's pet Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier, Mookie, who appears in every drawing in the book.
