Condition B+: replaced losses in corners; repaired tears, creases and abrasions at edges and in image. Silkscreen.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Mavignier moved to Europe in the early 1950s, where he studied under Max Bill and Josef Albers at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach. Toward the end of the decade he had his own studio and was working both as a painter and a graphic designer. His specialty was concrete and Op art, within which he worked with dot pictures, grid patterns and other geometrical studies. Between 1957 and 1970, he designed 55 posters for the Ulm Museum, as well as many other posters for different exhibitions around the world. Muller-Brockmann 237 (var).
