Alteronce Gumby is a New York City artist who specializes in painting, ceramics, installation, performance art, and film. His latest project, his first documentary feature, COLOR explores how viewers perceive the spectrum of color.

In 2016, the year that the present work on paper was created, Gumby graduated from the Yale School of Art with an MFA in Painting and Printmaking. That year, he also participated in the 6base artist residency in New York, and was the recipient of the Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship at the Fondation des États-Unis in Paris.
