With a postscript, additionally signed "J:A:," instructing him to ask Captain Lieutenant Winepress to remain at Albany until a suit has been concluded. 1 page, 4to, with integral blank; short closed separations at folds. "I Have at last obtained a Copy of Governor Nicolls's Grant to the Commanding Officer at Albany, which Appears to be very full, and I have Laid it before a Lawyer for his Opinion . . . ."
The postscript: "Mr. Leake having acquainted me that there is a man belonging to the 55th Regt. come down to Albany with Mr. Trotter; and as this man is, it seems, a Necessary Evidence in a suit depending in which Mr. Trotter is concerned, You will please to Acquaint Capt. Lieut. Winepress to give him Leave to continue at Albany until the Affair is over. . . ."
