In the 1920s, KLM-Royal Dutch Airlines and the Swedish company ABA-Aerotransport began operating the Scandinavian Air Express service to Scandinavia from France and England, routed through the Netherlands. As the technology improved on these routes, posters were adjusted to reflect new flying times, and a variation of this same poster exists advertising only a 7 hour journey. Beckman, who was one of Sweden's foremost graphic designers, was renowned not only for his poster work, but also for the Pavilion he designed for the 1939 New York World's Fair and many other international exhibitions and events. In 1939, he founded the Anders Beckman School to train up-and-coming Swedish youth in fashion and advertising design. very rare
