Engraving, circa 1497. 223x338 mm; 8 3/4x13 1/4 inches. Small 4-leaf clover watermark. Trimmed inside the plate mark with nearly the enitre subject preserved. A very good impression of this extremely scarce, early engraving.
The engraving is based in reverse on 4 of the 9 figures of women dancing, probably the Muses, in Mantegna's painting of Parnassus completed in 1497 and now in the Louvre, Paris. Hind 21.
