This is A. T. Andreas' third atlas in as many years, preceded by his state atlases of Minnesota and Iowa. Unfortunately his first two atlases were commercial failures and after the publication of the Iowa atlas Andreas went bankrupt and reorganized his atlas company under the name Baskin, Forster & Company. Andreas' name does not appear on the title page of the Indiana atlas probably because of that bankruptcy. However, both Ristow and Rumsey attribute the atlas to him. Despite the reorganization of the company, this atlas was also a financial disaster. Rumsey 19; Ristow, pages 438-439; Phillips Atlases, 1599.
