Andy Warhol appropriated a photograph of icon Sarah Bernhardt and used collage to create the final composition for this print which was transferred onto screens by Rupert Jasen Smith. Ten Portraits of Jews of the 20th Century was the first project in which Warhol depicted ten different historical subjects.
