ANNE BRIGMAN (1869-1950) The Heart of the Storm. Silver print, the image measuring 4⅛x3⅛ inches (10.5x7.9 cm.), double mounted and affixed inside a folding Christmas card on Ingres d'Arches paper, opened the card measuring overall 5¼x8½ inches (13.3x21.6 cm.), with Brigman's signature in ink on print recto, and her signature and an inscription in ink on mount recto, and the inscription "My Christmas Greeting to you" in ink in the artist's hand on the front cover. Circa 1915
The inscription inside reads as follows: "The Heart of the Storm / 'Like one in the calm that is the / centre of a cyclone / guarded by the very tornado around.'"
