ANONYMOUS IMPERIAL AIRWAYS. 1937.
25x40 inches. Ben Johnson & Co., York.
Condition A-: minor tears and creases at edges; slight foxing on verso. Paper.
An intricate and informative image from the Golden Age of travel, showing in full, first-class, detail a cross section of the Centuarus (S. 812 G-ADUT) one of the Short "C" class flying boats . In 1934 British Imperial Airways ordered 28 of the flying boats and here we are shown both the inner and outer wonders of the craft as well as many of her statistics. The image for the poster had been used before by Imperial Airways to promote the Canupus. Although in English, the image was identical, with only the background (the sky and sea) being different. Also changed were the call numbers on the back of the aircraft. French Version.
