Condition B+: creases and minor tears in margins. Paper.
The glory days of avant-garde design, constructivism and photomontage in the Soviet Union had disappeared by the mid 1930s. Stalin preferred the smiling peasant form of Socialist Realism and the conservative artists within the government propaganda agencies were only too happy to oblige. As an exception, travel posters that were targeted to a public outside the country were designed with more flair. Playing with scale and proportion, this poster with its soft, fluid Art Deco touch is quite accomplished. It is on a par with the highest international standards of creativity and design of the era.
