Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from The Ansel Adams Gallery, which includes the serial number, holographic seal, titles, dates, a signature from the gallery, and additional historical notes.

These prints were made from glass plate negatives, all or some of which may have been taken on a Sierra Club outing into the Kern-Kaweah/Mt. Witney region of the Sierra Nevada in the summer of 1927. One of the prints (Kaweah Peaks from Copper Pass) may have been made on a 1925 trip with Joseph LeConte Jr., and West from Elizabeth Pass and North from Elizabeth Pass may also be slightly earlier. The prints were all discovered together, and some of the earlier work may have been included because they are magnificent views of the areas the club visited on the trip. The photographs are likely sample prints Adams made to generate orders from club members.
