Anthony, Cor[responding] Sec'y, to aid the great work of rolling up the Mammoth Petition: 625,000, to the Constitutional Convention of 1894, asking the enfranchisement of the women of the State on equal terms with men."
On May 8, 1894, 175 delegates met for a state constitutional convention in Albany; by the time they adjourned on September 29, the amendment that would have granted the vote to the women of New York had been voted down by a committee composed of men.
