ANTON VAN ANROOYDELFT. Circa 1925.
39x48 3/4 inches. Eyre & Spottiswoode, London.
Condition B+: restoration in image and margins.
The interior of the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft, built between 1383-1510, and site of the crypt of the Dutch Royal Family. Van Anrooy designed posters for both the Great Western Railway and the London and Northeastern Railway, but as a native of Holland and someone who was educated in Delft, this poster must have been especially important to the artist. As with most of his posters great attention is paid to architectural detail.
