Boggeri worked with the printer Alfieri & Lacroixi in Milan, before opening up his eponymously-named studio in 1933. It quickly became the center of modernist, Italian graphic design, attracting some of the most talented designers in the country including Bruno Monari, Max Huber, Schawinsky, Nizzoli, Monguzzi and others. His firm worked for Olivetti, Pirelli and other dynamic Italian brands. Some of his early studies with photography, as well as the influence of Moholy-Nagy, led him to become one of the pioneers of using photography in advertising, which became his major contribution to modern publicity.
