proposal for a utopian world plan. number 84 of 275 copies on vélin a la cuve, from a total edition of 300, this copy printed for Lake Mohonk Conferences on Arbitration. The fairly scarce work was issued in a limited number of copies but never offered for sale because of the outbreak of World War I. Andersen's Utopian vision of a "World City" wherein humanity could be transformed by an abundance of well-conceived art and architecture, consisted of a world capital, including an International Court to be situated on the U.S. Atlantic, Italian, or Spanish coast. Hébrard's conception of the idea is massive and comprehensive, an idiosyncratic anticipation of future architecture and styles.
