Second Edition, but the first to contain the dedication by Geremia Guelfi to Marcantonio Borghese. The great mathematician Egnazio Danti prepared this edition (after the first of 1583) which includes a biographical preface, with information supplied by Vignola's son. It also contains an anatomical description of the eye with a discussion of binocular vision--Cicognara 810; Fowler 387; Schlosser 365.
