Point was a symbolist artist who was inspired by the pre-Raphaelites and attempted to revive the Florentine style of the 15th and 16th centuries, seen here in his depiction of Mercury, with one foot on the globe and blowing a trumpet to announce the arrival of a new publication. La Volonté [Willpower], was a short-lived literary magazine founded by Albert Duberry.
