(ARMENIAN METALWORK BINDING.) Three-piece hinged metal binding pierced and engraved with figurative decoration on covers and text on spine, originally executed for a manuscript of the Gospels in Armenian, now encasing a leatherbound volume of blank leaves. The spine panel measures approximately 136x51 mm, and the covers 144x100 mm each; the presence of rings along the cover fore edges suggests that a flap or other form of closure may be missing. southeastern Turkey(?), 1628
