With a globe at her feet and a travel guide book in her hand, a Victorian woman is basking in the warmth of her hearth, comfortably nestled in her drawing room, dreaming about far-a-way places. In her mind's eye she has conjured up images of Gibraltar, Egypt, Rome, Japan and India, and to take her to all these places she also envisions one of the mighty liners of the North German Lloyd fleet, which she pictures steaming out of New York harbor, with the Statue of Liberty in the distance.
