Ghedini (1905-1997) was born to a wealthy northern Italian family and initially trained in economics, though soon turned to painting and stage design. He married a fellow artist and actress, Anna Duranti, in Florence in 1947, and they eventually moved to New York. Ghedini exhibited his work, which was strongly influenced by surrealist artists like Salvador Dalí and Yves Tanguy, widely throughout the east coast.
