Several similar compositions, of Italian pastoral landscapes from the mid 1920s, are in public collections, including at The Museum of Modern Art (30.1934) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (31.67.3), New York.
Davies (1862-1928) began traveling annually to Italy in the 1920s, focusing primarily on scenes of the Northern Italian countryside.
