ASIART (DATES UNKNOWN) FLY AIR-INDIA INTERNATIONAL. Circa 1954. 39 1/4x24 1/4 inches, 100x62 cm. Bolton F. A. L. Works, Bombay. Condition B+: repaired tears in margins and image; restored loss in bottom right corner; unobtrusive vertical and horizontal folds. An intriguing, almost surreal image, which appears to be suggesting that flying is faster than walking. In 1946 Tata Airlines (which had begun operating in 1932) was turned into a public company and renamed Air India. By 1948, Air India had received and was operating her first Lockheed Constellation, and proceeded to add several Super Constellations to her fleet during the 1950s.
