Toussaint, who was primarily a painter, created his first poster for Le Sillon (The Furrow) - a circle of decorative realists. He instantly achieved fame in the field, with his Symbolist, Art Nouveau flair. Toussaint diverges from the Symbolist style to illustrate this elegant dining scene for the cognac brand Pedro Domecq. The title, wishing for prosperity for their clients, is cleverly carved below the balustrade in the background.
