Ryland, acknowledging receipt of payment of $20, informing him that several parts to the first octavo edition of Birds of America will be sent together and that the work will have 100 numbers in all and be completed over the course of several years. 1 page, folded 4to sheet with integral address leaf; usual folds, 3-inch tear affecting text (partially repaired), clipped portion on address leaf.
