"We arrived here all well . . . you will marvel to hear, that it is now snowing smartly, and not likely to stop this day . . . We expect to leave for Louisville at 10, providing the storm abates and the weather permits . . . My young folks are full of spirits. Mr. Fellows of Louisville is one of our companions and a Mr. Hall of Louisiana . . . If I have time I will find you the name of the steamer we go with . . ."
