On folio sheet, 34 3/4 x 25 3/4 inches; few very expertly closed edge chips, slightest abrasion to one Tulip Tree leaf. London: Havell, [1827]

Additional Details

An attractive composition depicting a female and her nest in a flowering Tulip Tree with two males nearby. Audubon completed the painting for this plate in 1825 based on birds he found in Louisiana. Low, A Guide to Audubon's Birds of America, page 35, state 1.
