Paul Gallimard was a wealthy art and book collector, who befriended and became a patron of the Impressionists. In 1887, Gallimard asked Rodin (1840-1917) to illustrate his 1857 edition of Charles Baudelaire's Fleurs du mal, and in 1918, Gallimard published an edition with Rodin's illustrations. Delteil 8.
