Pathomachia: Or, the Battell of Affections. Shadowed by a Faigned Siedge of the Citie of Pathopolis.

London: Printed by Thomas & Richard Coats for Francis Constable, 1630.

First edition, quarto, lacking first and last blanks (A1 & G4); title somewhat toned, first four leaves with a short cut mark in the bottom blank margin; headlines and bottom lines intact throughout; bound in half green morocco with marbled paper boards by Riviere; ex libris William Holgate; purchased from Ximenes in 1977; 7 x 5 1/4 in.

STC 19462; Greg II 434; ESTC S114196.

Although scholars have yet to definitely attribute authorship of the Pathomachia, the most likely candidate may be Thomas Tomkis, as it contains two direct references to his play, Madame Lingua, and shows other similarities to the work.
