Apollo 16 Recovery Ship Plaque. A 3.5-inch diameter ceramic emblem featuring the recovery logo for the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga, the prime recovery ship for Apollo 16. The emblem is mounted on a 6x8-inch wood plaque. It was presented to Duke while on the carrier after splashdown. Np, 1972
The front of the plaque has been signed: "Charlie Duke, Apollo 16" and has a Charles M. Duke, Jr. hand signed coat-of-arms decal emblem on the reverse side which certifies the plaque is from the Duke Collection.
