Apollo XVII Hand Control Stick display model. Approximately 5 inches tall black metal rotational controller hand grip identical to ones used inside the Command and Lunar Modules less the control system switch located at the index finger position.

Additional Details

The control stick in each spacecraft allowed three axis rotation based on hand movements of either tilting left/right, tilting forward/back, or twisting left/right. These movements could command firing of the small attitude control engines for rotational maneuvers or the position of the large propulsion engine of the Command Module. Signed: "Gene Cernan, Apollo XVII" on the left side of the control stick.
