Folio, three parts in one volume, illustrated with three engraved title pages (one for each part); the Orlando with forty-six full page engravings and vignettes, one at the head of each canto; plate for canto 33 repeated in the place of the engraving intended for canto 34, which was suppressed; five full page engravings and vignettes to illustrate each of the five parts of the Cinque Canti; bound in full marbled sheepskin, likely 18th century Spanish work, with gilt-tooled spine; some toning to contents, some pages with browned paper stock, some leaves with etched iron gall ink damage repaired, first title page mounted, 10 1/2 x 7 1/4 in.
This annotated Orlando, illustrated by Girolamo Porro (1520-1604), is described by Mortimer as "the most elaborate of the sixteenth century editions."
