Color woodcut printed on wove paper, number one of an edition of three, printed in mossy green tones with a black mottled background, titled, numbered, signed and dated in pencil by the artist, deep impressions made in the paper, some reverse matt burn, marginal creasing, 28 1/4 x 22 1/4 in.
Born in Buenos Aires, Armagni created limited edition large-format high-relief woodcuts in contrasting colors like the present work in the 1960s, using traditional techniques to produce work firmly ensconced in the mid-century modernist aesthetic. She is also a painter, collagist and sculptor, and won the Havana Biennial grand prize in 2019 for her El Anillo de Fuego.
