Aschheim, Eve (b. 1958)
Untitled (Water).

1998.

Brush and ink drawing on handmade paper, signed, dated 2/98 and inscribed "Florida Atlantic Center for the Arts" in pencil on verso; 150 x 210 mm; 5⅞ x 8¼ in.

In this work on paper, Aschheim explores the energy and movement of water in rivers or oceans and how the essence of the element changes over time and with environmental factors. Documenting the way waves build and then release energy, she uses various gestures, speeds, direction, and media in this series. Aschheim documented water while traveling the world. In early 1998, she was artist-in-residence at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Aschheim was born in New York City, and also spent time in California and Singapore. She received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and her MFA from the University of California, Davis. She has exhibited internationally, and her works are in public and private collections worldwide. Her work has received numerous awards and honors and fellowships.
