Two first edition folio volumes; each handsomely illustrated with 48 tinted gravure plates mounted on tipped-in colored paper (96 total) featuring reproductions by turn-of-the-century photographers, including Dubreuil, Demachy, Le Begue, Puyo, Laguarde, Boissonnas, and many others, protected by captioned tissue guards; both in original gray pictorial wrappers with decorations by G. Auriol (area of toning to half-titles; a few plates detached or starting, those mounted on white paper with marginal foxing; wrappers somewhat delicate but intact); each housed in a custom chemise with a facsimile of the front wrapper adhered to front, together in a clamshell box; 17 x 12 1/2 in.
