Folio, title page printed within elaborate woodcut title surround by Bernhard Jobin after Tobias Stimmer, with initials of both artists on scrolls at the foot of the composition which incorporates Christ as the savior of the world at top center; the four Evangelists in the four corners; Saints Ambrose, Gregory, Jerome & Augustine along the sides; and Froben's device at the foot; the text edited by Vives, with his notes; handsomely printed in roman letter in two columns throughout; final leaf with colophon and printer's device present; bound in contemporary parchment over boards with faded emblem to front board; lacking ties; binding somewhat rumpled and worn, contents nicely preserved; title page separating from text block and traveling with endleaf toward the front board; numerous ownership inscriptions to title page including an early owner named Casparis Vosberghy; Dutch clergyman Emmanuel Balthazar van den Gheyn, 1806; and Jean Francois Berleux, 1848; shelf label of an unidentified continental Jesuit college library to title page "Bibl.
