Additional Details

Thomas Kenan, clerk for Baldwin County, sets forth the case against Rodney, the slave of Major John A. Jones for willfully burning down his cotton gin, with a large quantity of cotton in it. Rodney pleaded "not guilty," but the outcome of this trial was entirely predictable: "hanged by the neck until you are dead, dead."
