Additional Details

The poem, apparently unpublished, (in part): "My interest in the common man is meagre. / Most likely to succeed I ain't, nor eager. / Than steal the other fellow's chicks, I'd rather die. / If you knew 'em, the chicks I mean, like I do, you'd know why. / I ain't never had to box instead of fiddle. / Crusaders are well advised to leave me absolutely free to diddle. / For my ideals no-one's ever offered me money / But I lost them anyway, along with my taste for milk and honey . . . Alas. Alack, What ho. I've missed the trolley. / Ain't never been invited out to Holly / To sell myself for several thousand revolting bucks / And take to corruption like water takes to ducks . . ."
