Additional Details

"I very much regretted not having been at home; If you have time today, you will find me at 9 a.m. at work on the statue at 25 rue de Chazelles taken from Parc Monceau. You would still be able to see the model that will be mounted. If you are not free, I will come to see you as soon as possible."
Beginning in 1881, the various parts of the Statue of Liberty were brought to Paris's Parc Monceau in preparation for assembly (including the torch, which had been loaned to the Philadelphia Exposition of 1876, and the head, loaned to the Paris Exposition of 1878). Near the park, at the foundry at 25 Rue de Chazelles, the statue was completed in 1884, then dismantled for transport to the United States.
