BEATO, FELICE (1832-1909) Group of 34 early photographs of Delhi, Agra, and Lucknow at the time of the Sepoy Mutiny, in India. Salted paper prints from calotype negatives, albumenized salt, and albumen prints from collodion negatives, each approximately 9 1/2x13 inches (24.1x33 cm.), and the reverse, many with period calligraphic notations on mount recto; with 2 duplicates (in slightly different formats and printing styles). 1857-58
An important gathering of photographs relating to the Sepoy Mutiny, with many fine examples of salted paper prints. The lot includes:
